Please click on the specific gallery required. This will open a thumbnail display of all the items within the gallery.
Double click on the specific item required – this will open a larger image with details of the item itself but not the contents. Icons for Selection, Exploring and Ordering items can be used directly from this screen.
Alternatively, one can click on any of the icons that appear when the mouse is held over the image of an item. These allow for creation of selections of items, further searching within an item and for ordering a high resolution digital file of the item.
The icon ‘Explore this item’ will open a low-resolution pdf copy of the entire item in the universal viewer. The copy may take a while to download.
A menu bar at the side of the screen enables the chosen image of the contents to be enlarged and viewed. Reducing, enlarging and rotation of the view are possible so that any part of the item can be examined.
The search box at the bottom of the screen enables searching within that chosen item.
The search results are displayed as tear drops on a bar, indicating the image number. Clicking on the tear drop will lead to the image itself with the search term(s) highlighted.
To create a customised selection of items from the Digital Archive
The ‘Add to selection’ button from any screen allows individual items to be added to the user’s own selection of digital archive material. This saves repeating searches and allows customised lists of material to be created and saved.
Each selection can be titled, viewed, copied, edited, deleted or emailed using the selection bar at the bottom of the screen.
Selection of ‘view’ from the bar at the bottom of the screen opens a thumbnail view of the contents of the selection and allows for further actions using the buttons displayed.
